GEMÜ M blocks for sterile applications: Example: "Double block and bleed"
Complex processes – often using complicated welded assemblies – are still being implemented today, more than 20 years after the market launch of the first M blocks. Valves, fittings and pipe components, for example, result in a high hold-up volume and more dead space in compliance with the conventional 6D or 3D rules.
The animation shows how the "double block and bleed" application can be implemented with one block of material instead of the complicated welded assembly. This also has, amongst other things, a draining and dead-space optimized design (low hold-up volume, small wetted area, minimal dead space).
