Thank you for your smile: The GEMÜ smile
What are the secret ingredients of success? Creativity, intuition, enthusiasm and good humour.
Or, put simply, people.
We would like to say a huge thank you to all our employees for their commitment and support.
Every single smile on our façade comes straight from our company.
Yesterday, over 60 million years ago
When we ask questions about "how" and "why", looking for meaning and values, we have to start at the very beginning. Ammonites found in the Ingelfingen shell limestone tell us that there must have been a sea here, over 60 million years ago. The fossils are a sign of radical changes and continuous new beginnings. These developments, which took place millions of years ago, shaped the face of our world. The sheer scale of this dimension – time – puts the drama of everyday life, big and small, into perspective and allows us to step back and view everything as a whole. In the vast ocean of time, it is only the present moment that matters. This is where we live and work, while recognizing the path we have taken and trusting the paths we will take in the future.
A love of home
Our deep bond with our home is one of the central pillars of the company's philosophy. No matter how far our branches reach to establish business relationships, or how tall our organization grows, our strength comes from our roots.
Milestones
The first chapter in GEMÜ's success story was the decisive implementation of a brilliant idea: The world's first plastic process valve. In 1963, the directly controlled, electromagnetically operated globe valve was the first step on a cost-effective path towards automation for electroplating plants. Even today, Fritz Müller's motto is essential advice for those looking to achieve success: "An idea is only useful if you make something of it!"
Spread your wings
A figure with raised, outstretched arms spreads its wings, which are represented in abstract form and enormous compared to the figure. GEMÜ has equally large wings, namely the power and opportunities offered by one of the world's largest valve manufacturers. Each member of staff is offered a wide range of opportunities to spread their own wings. We wish them all a smooth take-off and successful flight.
Apollo 17
Apollo 17 was the eleventh manned flight in the Apollo programme and, currently, the last manned space flight to the moon. The mission was a success. The scientists obtained the results of experiments and measurements that they had hoped for. Their thirst for knowledge about our satellite was quenched and space exploration went on to focus on new aims. On 14th December 1972, Commander Eugene Cernan, currently the last person to stand on the moon's surface, left the moon with these words: "We leave as we came, ... with peace and hope for all mankind." On the very same day, something of great importance happened for the Müller family, too. A new start, with new prospects for the future. We're keeping the rest a secret...
