The commissioning of the GEMÜ 1435 ePos electro-pneumatic positioner is demonstrated and explained in this video. This covers the central air supply, the electrical connections, the travel sensor and the on-site initialization of the device. The order in which these topics appear follows the commissioning procedure itself. To begin with, the position of the air connector (single acting version) and/or the positions of the air connectors (double acting version) are explained. Opposite the central air supply are the electrical connections. The upper connector is used for the supply voltage and the lower connector for the signal input. The travel sensor can then be connected to the bottom of the housing. If a valve is supplied ex works with the positioner fitted, the positioner is already initialized. If the positioner is only fitted on site, the initialization process needs to be started after fitting. For this process, the protective cover is unscrewed from the keypad and the keys are pressed in a certain order. If a valve with an already initialized positioner is dismantled again – to replace wearing parts, for example – the initialization process must be repeated.
Further information and practical tips are provided by the GEMÜ training team in a number of training courses.
