More scope for new ideas: GEMÜ cleanroom plant opens in Emmen

The GEMÜ Group's new production plant was opened in Emmen in the canton of Lucerne on 21st September 2012. The building commissioner and plant operator is the Swiss subsidiary of GEMÜ. It specializes in valves and accessories for semiconductor systems and single-use applications as well as in customized plastics solutions for the medical industry.
The building was designed and constructed in line with the latest findings and guidelines in the cleanroom sector. Below are the key figures for manufacturing, assembly and dispatch:
• 1800 m2 ISO 8 cleanroom (in operation) and GMP class C for injection moulding
• 1000 m2 ISO 8 cleanroom (in operation) and GMP class C for assembly technology; this area can be adapted locally to meet ISO 6 (in operation)
• An additional 2500 m2 is available for injection moulding and assembly technology under controlled ambient conditions (hygiene sector)
The film documents the opening celebrations and provides an initial insight into the new production rooms for high-purity and single-use valves, as well as for injection-moulded parts for medical industry products.
