Globe valves are available in a short-stroke or long-stroke design, whereby short-stroke globe valves are often implemented as directly controlled solenoid valves. Long-stroke globe valves, on the other hand, are available in a straight seat or angle seat design. The animation shows how a medium flows through and is shut off by a long-stroke angle seat valve body.
It clearly shows that this valve type can achieve a good flow capability and/or fast cycle duties whilst saving space. However, globe valve bodies have a better flow for automatic control systems.
