Diaphragm replacement for GEMÜ 650 with diaphragm code 5E
Diaphragm replacement for GEMÜ 650 with diaphragm code 5E
Diaphragm replacement for GEMÜ 650 with diaphragm code 5E
The video demonstrates and explains how the two-piece PTFE diaphragm 5E is changed for the diaphragm valve GEMÜ 650. Before removing valve accessories that are mechanically limited to the valve stroke, it is sensible to check the settings and values where necessary. For example, measure the installation length of the opening limiter as a point of reference to facilitate subsequent refitting. After removing the structures for valves closed by spring pressure, the valve must also be actuated and thereby placed in the open position before disassembly of the actuator. Subsequently move the disassembled actuator into the closed position, unscrew the PTFE face anticlockwise and remove the diaphragm and backing. During the assembly of the new diaphragm that follows, the order of the steps that are outlined in the video should also be adhered to. Due to the natural setting behaviour of diaphragm sealing materials, particularly after the first sterilization process, we also recommend that you check the compression of the diaphragms periodically and retighten the flange fasteners if necessary. These assembly instructions can also be used for other pneumatic GEMÜ valve types when changing the 5E diaphragm in diaphragm sizes MG25-150.
Further information and practical tips are provided by the GEMÜ training team in a number of training courses.
Safety information
Before replacing diaphragms in a system, the system or relevant system section, the valve and its accessories must be switched off and secured according to applicable regulations and directives. Make sure that the relevant pipe section and valve are free of overpressure and vacuum and that the prevailing internal and external temperature does not pose a danger for personnel. Make sure that the relevant pipe section and valve are free of corrosive substances that are harmful to health and that additional suitable measures for protecting personnel have been implemented according to applicable regulations and directives. The operating and maintenance instructions for valves and attachments are to be strictly observed.
