Green engineering – product development
At GEMÜ, green engineering starts with product development. Elementary aspects are, among other things:
- Exploitation of digital simulation technology to an increasing degree
- Use of materials that comply with RoHS/REACH and POP directives
- As little material used as possible with the same product features
- Compatibility of components and subassemblies with each other
- Efficiency increases for each product generation (e.g. higher Kv values, less current consumption, more resource-efficient)
State-of-the-art product development – example of GEMÜ P600M M-block stainless steel diaphragm valve
- Space savings due to compact design
- Individual, customized and flexible design
- Reduced deadleg
- Fewer connection points and weld seams
- Huge variety of functions combined in the smallest of spaces
- Hermetic separation between medium and actuator
- Wide range of adaptation options from measurement and control systems, in addition to accessories
Thanks to the smallest possible size (footprint) and a design that saves material, the GEMÜ multi-port valve blocks (M-blocks), for example, require less energy to be heated up to the required operating temperature. We thereby support our customers too in achieving their CO2 objectives.
Recycling as an important aspect of sustainable economic activity
The entire product lifecycle is considered as early as the product development stage. In relation to recyclability, it is ensured that GEMÜ products can be dismantled easily, and consequently separated into recyclable materials and fed back into the resource cycle.
